Privacy Policy

We collect: (a) information you provide — name, email, phone, profile photo, ID documents, SSN last 4, license, insurance, and references; (b) transaction data — booking history, payment records (card details are stored by Stripe, not us); (c) location data — during LiveSafe GPS sessions only, with your consent; (d) device data — IP address, browser type, OS; (e) communications — in-app chat messages.

We use your data to: verify your identity and run background checks; process bookings and payments; operate safety features; send transactional emails; improve the platform; comply with legal obligations; and prevent fraud. We do not sell your personal data.

We share data with: Stripe (payments), Checkr (background checks), Supabase (database infrastructure), and law enforcement when legally required. Guides and travelers see each other's first name and profile photo once a booking is confirmed. We never share your SSN, full ID, or financial details with other users.

We retain account data as long as your account is active. Booking records are kept for 7 years for legal compliance. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time; we will process requests within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Guide documents are stored in a private Supabase Storage bucket accessible only to the owning user and authorized TerraGuide staff. We run regular security audits.

You have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion; opt out of marketing emails (click unsubscribe in any email); and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Email privacy@terraguide.app to exercise these rights.

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may break authentication.

TerraGuide is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact privacy@terraguide.app.
